Visiting Magnolia Market has been on my bucket list since Chip & Jo announced they were doing it. So we finally decided that 2020 was the year to take a trip to Waco, Texas, and mark it off the list. Some of you guys are probably like “Ewww 2020! Don’t utter those words.” But it honestly ended up being the perfect time to go and here is why.
So Magnolia Market really isn’t that big, you can definitely get it done in a day! We actually got it done in about 3 and a half hours. We went a couple of weeks before Christmas and in the middle of a pandemic so there were little to no lines. The only times we had to wait, were for coffee and cupcakes and that was because there was a person or two in front of us. So the wait was super short! The only downfall about going during a pandemic was that there were only 2 food trucks there. And they were also doing renovations at Magnolia Seed & Supply. Which this could have been because it was winter and most plants don’t grow during winter.
As far as what all there is to do at Magnolia Market, it is definitely just that, a market for shopping. You can check out the Magnolia store where they sell all the different Magnolia goods. Or if you are looking for bigger furniture pieces check out Magnolia Home. They also have about 6 little shops that sell everything from journals, clothing, kids’ toys, soaps & lotions, and more. While you are there you have to grab a cookie or a cupcake from the Silos Baking Co. and grab a coffee from Magnolia Press Coffee Co. Also, when visiting Magnolia Market, you have to stop by Harp Design Co. and check out Clint Harp’s store.
*Tip: If you are visiting in December, be sure to go back after dark to see the Christmas Lights*
Where To Eat in Waco:
This is a given, but you definitely have to check out Magnolia Table while you are there. We got there probably about 30 minutes after they opened and were seated right away. By the time we were leaving, more people were showing up and it was starting to get a little crowded. As far as the food goes, I highly recommend the lemon-lavender donut holes. They were so amazing! Also, anything with strawberry butter will be delicious. I was eating the butter by itself it was so good! And if you haven’t ever tried an iced vanilla latte with lavender, this is the place to do it. Chris ordered one and I kept stealing it from him. That is marriage HAHA!
If you are looking for a dinner option, there are a ton of cute places around. We tried a Mexican restaurant that came highly recommended by a few of you. It was called Ninfa’s and was only a few minutes from Magnolia Market. Chris is always trying new things and got the crawfish enchiladas which did not disappoint. I honestly liked his better than mine, but I didn’t steal it this time. LOL!
Where To Stay for Magnolia Market:
Hands down an Air B&B is the best way to go when visiting Magnolia Market in Waco, TX. There are a ton of really cute ones but the one we stayed at takes the cake! If y’all watched my Instagram stories, y’all already know that I am obsessed with this little gem of a house! I wanted to pick it up and take it back home with me. It is named the Halet House and every single detail of this home has been thought out so perfectly.
When you first walk into the Halet House, you notice the stunning design and aesthetic of the home. But when you look a little closer, you will notice details like a bowl of individually wrapped customized trail mix waiting for you. Or a cute little photo book that tells the story of the home, the design of each room, and lists the host’s favorite things to see, do, and eat in Waco. And if that isn’t enough they also list their favorite dish from each restaurant.
One of my favorite parts of the home is the cozy outdoor area. Not only do they have a cute sitting area with twinkle lights and a fire pit, but they also have a stunning mural. If you look closely you will notice that the mural matches the bathroom wallpaper. Y’all I mean EVERY single detail! We were truly blown away, it is a must stay for sure!
Overall visiting Magnolia Market in Waco, did not disappoint. It would make for a really fun girl’s trip too! For more on our trip to Texas, stay tuned for my Austin City Guide.
